It was approved, on Wednesday – October 4^th, a municipal law that authorizes the administration of São Paulo to grant to the private sector a wide range of public services. Among them are the administration of the “Bilhete Único” (the current public transportation car, used in buses, trains and subways), planetariums, municipal markets and bus terminals, as well as  parks and public squares cleaning and maintenance services.

The expectation is that by 2018 the private companies will take control of the execution of such services, with an estimated financial impact of up to BRL 5 billion by 2020, given the reduction of expenses and the increase of revenues.
